Energy From The Edge:
Opportunities for Cooperation Around the North Atlantic Rim
The Energy from the Edge Conference will bring together ‘energetic’ representatives from ‘remote’ communities around the Nordic and North Atlantic rim to discuss some of the key issues faced by our geographically challenged regions and how they can be overcome.
The potential for more use of sustainable energy will be a predominant theme, as the findings of a Nordic Ministers Council Symposium (held in Shetland 11-13th Sept) will be fed back to the event. The Conference will also focus on the energy of knowledge and outline unique solutions from and for communities at the edge of periphery. Exchanging knowledge on how remote communities can prosper through ‘Identity’ and manage resources through finding local solutions will be key areas for discussion and collaboration.
In summary, the 5 key themes of the event will be
- Sustainable Energy Supply
- Labour Market Mobility
- Large Scale Resource Development in Remote Communities
- Prosperity through Identity
- Governance
